A Win for Crunchy Cool!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

The Riverfront Times have honored Jim and myself as recipients of the 2009 MasterMind Award in the Film/Video category. The MasterMind Awards are featured in the August 26th issue of the RFT and an awards gala celebration will be held on August 27th at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild.

According to the RFT, “Our aim is to foster cutting-edge work that’s being done right now, right here in St. Louis.  The intent of the MasterMind Awards is to honor the innovators whose cultural and creative contributions are helping to redesign – and redefine – the town where we all live.”

We are thrilled with this announcement and hope that it gives our project more local attention so that we can move into production in 2010!

Scriptapalooza

Monday, August 24th, 2009

“The Bloodfest Club” was recognized earlier this month with a selection by Scriptapalooza.  ”The competition was founded in 1998 and has generated heat, publicity, and a reputation that demands respect.”  Scripts are judged by Production Company readers and our script had the honor of making it to the Quarterfinals out of more than 4,000 screenplays evaluated!  We have once announcement yet to make next month, as we await the results of the Slamdance Screenplay Competition.

Nicholl Honors The Bloodfest Club

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

We’re thrilled to announce that the screenplay for “The Bloodfest Club” is among the top 10 percent of more than 6,200 entries in the 2009 Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting Competition.  Nicholl, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, is the world’s most esteemed screenwriting competition and each year scripts are evaluated by paid professional readers who narrow down thousands of entries to five Nicholl Fellows later this year.  We hope this unexpected critical validation will allow us to get our screenplay into the hands of a production company or additional investors in the very near future.

Onward!
